Leadership Development

EdLearning Connections is committed to empowering leaders who learn with purpose, so they can lead with insight.  We understand that the impact of school leadership on student learning is second only to that of quality classroom instruction.  Therefore, those who serve in these critical roles- principals, assistant principals, and teacher leaders- deserve opportunities for ongoing, collaborative, job-embedded professional learning.

We cultivate leaders who develop themselves while developing others!
Focused on learning.  Invested in people.  Leading for impact.

School leaders face a complex, ever-evolving mix of challenges, including teacher shortages, student mental health concerns, student achievement gaps, and evolving technology.  For these reasons, our Leadership Development Sessions focus on current issues that are impacting classrooms, schools, and systems, and allow leaders to explore, assess, collaborate, and problem-solve around those issues.

Leadership Development Sessions

Leadership Development Sessions allow leaders to sharpen their skills and build expertise around topics related to schoolhouse systems and instructional practice, including:

  • Analyzing the root cause(s) of issues/challenges
  • Making data-driven decisions about teaching and learning
  • Assessing teacher practices and needs
  • Providing specific and effective feedback
  • understanding and supporting the challenges of new teachers
  • Designing a school-wide instructional learning path

Leadership Team Insight Walks

Leadership Team Insight Walks provide a collaborative opportunity for leadership team members– such as school leaders, instructional coaches, district support personnel, and professional learning partners to observe, assess, and respond to teaching and learning in classroomsDuring an Insight Walk, school-based leadership team members have an opportunity to visit classrooms to:

  • Observe Instructional practice for evidence of implementation
  • Assess the degree of and frequecny of implemented instructional strategies
  • Identify areas of teachers’ approximations and successes
  • Gauge impact of teacher practice on student learning
  • Highlight gaps or areas where additional support may be needed

The Secret to Retaining Teachers

|

Barb and Diamar helped to clarify my ideas and vision, while helping me think more strategically about school improvement and change initiatives. Thank you for helping to build capacity in our leadership team by providing ongoing coaching and support to our teacher leaders and administrative team. You have been an invaluable collaborative partner in all aspects of my work.

From the moment our school district began our work with EdLearning Connections, I knew that our mentor program would grow leaps and bounds. The professionalism, the excitement, the knowledge, and the overall commitment to work alongside us was inspiring.
